Do you fantasize about things you never actually do?

26 December 2007

It's a common situation, so don't put yourself down over it. Just change, and start DOING things. Simple, right?

Very often we hate where we are - the job, the social situation, the city, the lifestyle, the whatever... And I mean HATE it. Depressed, impotent, frustrated, angry... Ho hum we let ourselves stay here? Why?

Generally, it's because even though we HATE what we have, where we are, we are worried the alternative may be worse. If we make the effort, take that big step to move from point A to point B - what if B is worse?

We won't know until we arrive...

If you can't figure out whether the change will be better, bring you what you want, what can you do? Will quitting my job and moving city make my financial situation worse instead of solving all my problems? By choosing to do nothing [and remember that IS a choice in itself] you are choosing to change nothing. You stay frozen in your misery. I think it is better to make a change, and discover it was wrong [that is, fail... so what?]. Then ho hum we need to make a change, right? Again! Only now we have earned us some make-a-change skills.

Wealth.

A great topic for tomorrow.

  • 7 easy steps to set up DIGG.

    1. What is DIGG?

Any article... video... podcast that you like, you can submit to Digg. This appears on a page: 'Upcoming Stories'. If you like it, you can DIGG it [there is a button: DIGG - at the bottom of all articles, so what you are doing when you click this, is voting for the article]. Popular articles get a LOT of traffic. Each article shows how many times it has been DUGG [how many hits it has received]. If it scores well, it gets onto the homepage, and you will drown in traffic!

    2. I understand that by clicking on a DIGG button, or a DIGG link on a website [like the one at the bottom of this article], I am voting for the article. But how do I submit one of my own?

You do that with a submission form - right here: Submission Form . This takes you to a page where you are asked to LOG IN, or SIGN UP if you are a new member. Once you log in, click on the SUBMIT NEW tab at the top to submit a story/video/podcast/whatever. Of course, you are looking through your OWN site or blog, and selecting the very best to submit. You want the traffic, right! And the submission form is very easy to follow... you just have to sign up first.

    3. How do I sign up?

The simplest way is to click on the submission link above - it takes you directly to a very simple form.

    4. How do I create a profile, and why should I anyway?

Of course you should. Here you let people know about you and your blog/project/site. All your friends, and their friends, and the friends of their friends will pass here [see next point] and many will flow on to your site. Once set up this remains a simple passive tool to increase your traffic. Once you sign up, simply click on the Profile tab, and upload your foto and write your little biography.

    5. How can I maximise my DIGG account to share my site with the world?

Just click on any user name you see on Digg to go to that user's profile. Then click the ADD FRIEND button. Grow grow grow your friends list. If they like your site/blog/article/ they will tell their friends, who will tell the friends of their friends... Get the idea?

    6. How can I find my friends?

Simple. You can search for current Digg users by username, email, name, or location. A simple search for this site, for example: digg.com/users/danielsquest brings you to our profile. The FRIENDS tab in your Profile allows you to add your entire email list [gmail, aol, yahoo, hotmail and so on] with a single click. You can visit the FRIENDS ACTIVITY tab in your Profile to see everywhere they DUGG, and what comments they have made.

    7. Add a DIGG link to your page

Crucial. Vital. Kinda important, right... Go here to get the code [and simple instructions] to add the DIGG THIS button to your site, exactly as you see it below: BUTTON
