You don't worry about happiness and fulfillment when you're starving.
16 December 2007Passion.
Lucky is he/she/it whose life is lit by passion.
This person makes the extra effort. Has commitment. This person, day after day, pushes and prods the universe into a healthy shape. The Universe doesn't mind, it will give us whatever we want - if we ask it. Remember, what you think about comes into your life - what you think about passionately explodes into your life. Passionate people are full of ideas - they have to be, to overcome the surrounding apathy.
The reward for passion is very often only satisfaction. How boring, huh, can you imagine simply being happy with your life, fulfilled? There's gotta be more, right?
With Project Palhaco, I have managed to bite off more than I can chew. I know this - now.
But I think of it now as a test - am I strong enough to do it? Do I have the courage to finish the damn thing?
It's very easy when I'm at the community, seeing bang! in front of my face the tough life these kids have. And when they are jumping on you and hugging you and just smothering you with life, yeah it's easy to keep battling away.
Then you come home and... aaah! This is when I need some Passion to kick in.
I look at some blogs and they are so professional. And I look at what I still need to do: affiliates, del.icio.us, digg, RSS feeds... everything you must do for a successful blog. The list goes on forever. I am still trying to work out how to do printer-friendly prints from my pages! Anyone who wants, go to my source and send me some help. Please.
They tell me the Google Bot is supersmart, places contextual ads for you. On this site? No matter what I write about, Google totally ignores it and just conjures up useless [for this site] ads for 'daniel' this, that and the other... have to solve that one as well.
But I started. That's everything, right. The rest now is just logistics. We will build and improve as we go along.

10 ways to find your passion.
1. Set a goal And make it BIG. Sure, break it down into small steps, but make sure your end point is something great. Set deadlines... this takes the task from paper to reality. And passion demands action. 2. Work at what you love Or rather, play at what you love. Because when you are working on your passion, it is always a delight, even getting through the rough bits. Everyone has something they love to do, or have always wanted to do. HERE is where you start. 3. Live your life You only get one [at a time...] and the clock is ticking. If you are totally frustrated and dissatisfied doing what you do at the moment, take the leap and change to LIFE. Again, follow your passion. 4. Try something new Don't know what you really want? Have no compelling passion at the moment, but know that more than this exists? You won't find out anything new without trying something new. And if you hate it, so what? Try something else new. 5. Appreciate every moment of your life Understanding that life is so short, and you only have one shot at it, is good motivation to live it to the fullest. And if you get into the habit of looking for the best in every day, your passion will stumble into your life, grab you by the throat and change your very existence. 6. Use your talents Connect your talents to your work. If you are artistic, why are you working in a gym? If you are athletic, why are you working in a gallery? 7. Spend time with passionate people Passion is contagious. If you spend time with someone who exudes passion about a subject, some of it will rub off on you. Seek out people who have the energy you want and get them talking. Often it will point you to key information you had no idea could be so interesting. 8. Get instruction Maybe you know you will be passionate about photography, but you know zero about the mechanics, and that barrier kills your motivation. Take a course, open the door. 9. Have fun That's right, do just that. Play at what you enjoy, and see where it leads you. 10. Avoid frustration Worry less about results and more about experimenting until you build up skill. Just try things out - the skills will come. Grow along with your passion. Remember the point above - it has to be fun. It's life, remember, a wonderful wonderful thing to own... enjoy it.
